KENYIR STATE PARK
Large part of Kenyir State Park relatively still in its natural state. With the size area of 30,000 ha, Kenyir State Park has a diverse array of flora and fauna includes the small and big plants, mammals, birds and fish. The flora found in Kenyir State Park is also sources of medicinal products, recreation, cultural and spiritual values. It also culturally significant to two indigenous Orang Asli communities, the Bateq of Kuala Koh and the Semaq Beri of Sungai Berua. In addition, Kenyir State Park also part of the Kenyir catchment area which are as flood mitigation, erosion prevention, watershed services for clean drinking water.

SPECIES

The Park is important for endangered species such as the Malayan Tiger, the Malayan Tapir, the Sun Bear, the Asian Elephant and Panther. A total of 95  mammal species have recorded here including six species of primate. So far, 36 species of reptiles and a similar number of amphibians have been found. New species records continue to be made.
